How to use 习惯
习惯 works as a noun meaning habit or custom, and as a verb meaning to be used to something. As a verb it takes an object directly, with no extra word for "to". Example: 我还不习惯这里的天气。(Wǒ hái bù xíguàn zhèlǐ de tiānqì.) I am still not used to the weather here.
习 (xí) means to practice, as in 学习 (xuéxí) and 练习 (liànxí), and 惯 (guàn) has the heart radical 忄 on the left. Something you practice so often that your heart gets used to it becomes a 习惯 (xíguàn), a habit.
Common mistake: Learners often translate "get used to" word by word and add 到, as in 习惯到. The correct form is just 习惯 plus the object, or 习惯了 to show the change, as in 我习惯了 (wǒ xíguàn le), I have gotten used to it.
