一路 often describes something that continues for an entire trip, as in 一路上 (yīlù shang, all along the way). It is very common in farewells such as 一路顺风 (yīlù shùnfēng, have a good trip) and 一路平安 (yīlù píng'ān, have a safe journey). Example: 我们一路走回家。(Wǒmen yīlù zǒu huí jiā.) We walked all the way home.
