重复 is a verb for saying or doing the same thing again, and it can also describe things that are duplicated. It often takes an object or pairs with 一遍 (yí biàn, one time). Example: 请你再重复一遍。(Qǐng nǐ zài chóngfù yí biàn.) Please repeat that once more.
重 (chóng) means "again, layered," and 复 (fù) means "return, do once more." Doing something again and coming back to it once more means you repeat it.
